Brimming with talent and contagious energy, Isabelle Mercier has been amazingly successful in the milieu of professional poker all over the world.

Born in Victoriaville in the Canadian province of Quebec, Isabelle studied law at the University of Montreal but only practised for six months in Quebec, six months being the minimum period necessary to obtain her professional license. She then decided to turn down a job with the “Caisse de Dépôt et Placement du Quebec”, thus refusing to conform to a conventional way of life.

She sent her curriculum vitae to over a hundred casinos worldwide in order to embark on a career in the world of gambling, a career which would enable her to achieve her dream of travelling all over the world. Without a penny in her pocket, she flew to Paris to try to get a job at the renowned gambling club, the Aviation Club de France (ACF). After getting hired for night work, she studied in parallel for a Masters degree in international law at the Sorbonne, with the sole aim of obtaining a work permit. Very determined, she quickly climbed the ladder at the ACF, becoming responsible for the club’s poker room. Meeting great names in professional poker on a daily basis, Isabelle began to see that, in time, she could make a career in the game.

With her constant desire to surpass herself and make her dreams come true, she allowed nothing to get in her way. In fact, she gave up her job at the ACF and sold all her belongings to finance her operating fund, and threw herself body and soul into becoming a professional poker player.
Her travel bags became her home ; risk was now part and parcel of her everyday life.

In 2004, the ambitious Isabelle carried off a great victory by winning the Ladies’ Night tournament on the World Poker Tour (WPT). On that occasion, Mike Sexton, the well-known commentator and poker legend, gave her the nickname No Mercy, an appropriate reflection of Isabelle’s particularly aggressive and merciless play.

On the strength of this success, she soon drew the attention of a very popular on-line poker site. She continued to rise on the international scene, becoming a brilliant success ever more present in the worldwide media.

In 2009, she became Poker ambassador at BetClic.
Today she is a real star in the gambling world and a source of influence, especially thanks to sideline projects that demonstrate her creativity and a keen business sense.
